The Philadelphia Community Corps is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. This means that most contributions, both monetary and in-kind (goods or services), are tax-deductible. We provide letters of acknowledgement for all contributions, allowing you to claim qualified donations as deductions from your tax liability.
We would be unable to operate our organization without the generosity of donors both big and small. Monetary contributions allow us to sustain, and grow, both our training program – providing valuable work opportunities and experiences to young men and women in Philadelphia, and our Materials Reuse Center – diverting waste from landfills and giving a second life to items that would have been otherwise discarded. You can donate through PayPal using the button below. We also accept check and cash donations as well.
We are always in need of tools and supplies for our worksites and the Materials Reuse Center. Without donations of these items, we would not be able to complete our projects or provide our training program.
By donating unwanted building materials, not only do you avoid hauling and tipping fees that may be associated with disposing of these items, you are keeping waste from piling up in area landfills and cutting down on the energy use and pollution from new production. Approved in-kind donations can be dropped off, by appointment, at our Materials Reuse Center in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia.
If the total deduction for all noncash contributions for the year is less than $5,000, Section A of the form must be filled out. If the total deduction is over $5,000, you must complete Section B for each item or group of similar items you are claiming. Contributions greater than $5,000 also require an appraisal from a qualified, independent appraiser.(Appraisal Requirements for Noncash Charitable Contributions)
